    oops-QK auctions

Never expected to win this! Entirely Mikeh83's fault for encouraging me to bid ! And now I have a problem with the one in one out policy. So 40 cm female Goshiki from Minuma, very happy and will probably collect mid-October, just love the pattern.

A 58 cm Kohaku also appeared last week, think it must of been carried in by the heron from a pond down the road Im out of control again.....

Yep I just put an auto bid expecting it to go for much much more, looking at the prices of the other Minuma Goshiki on the QK site, nice surprise. Perhaps people just dont like Kindai? No female guarantee as such but fingers crossed. Looking at the long body hopefully that bodes well for size too. I have a lovely Kuro Goshiki already, so this will compliment nicely, hopefully as she darkens that pattern will look even better.

I managed to sneak a Kohaku back once when I was working near koi logic and popped in on my lunch break! I took the fish around the side gate and then got floating in the pond. I snuck the measuring tub behind the back of the pond knowing the missus would never go out there anyway then got sorted whilst the fish was floating. After a little while I just went out in the garden and pottered about keeping an eye on the windows before getting the fish in the measuring tub etc to see the size before adding it to the pond. The funniest part was the missus said to me there's a bag in the pond and I said oh I was drying one out from the other day it must have blown in, she was still oblivious months later when it was literally sitting by the window clear as day

So collected on Tuesday, nice run out to Queni, very nice set up, managed somehow to not buy any others…. 45 cms but still looks small in the pond, needs a good feed up, lovely colour and Scarlett is different enough to Ingrid (the Kanno kuro Goshiki in photo 2) She’s already darkened nicely compared to photo 3

    Looks cracking!

I'd be well chuffed with that being in my pond.

Quick question, what does kuro mean?

I've read somewhere that it means net pattern but your other goshiki looks to have solid black background pattern.

I'm on the hunt for a Goshiki and just love how the solid red sits over the black background.

Pretty sure in relation to Goshiki, Kuro is where the Asagi background turns completely black, as opposed to Kindai (modern lighter style) like the new one. My Kanno literally darkened to black within a few weeks. Will be interesting to see what happens with the new one, both are female, but the Kindai one is very long in comparison, and is alreay starting to darken, hopefully 45 cm at Nissai will make a decent size too, the other is much smaller and chunkier.

    Ah, cheers for the explanation.

It'll be interesting to see just how dark the new one will go.
