Had to do a bit of a bodge job on the ibc . The drain whole was 3inch and couldn't find anything to drop it to 2 inch

I reused some of lid that I cut off and a 2 inch tank connector

Hoping it works feels soild enough

    Yeah mate plenty on

As there is a valve and pipe work behind it it didn't need to be 100percent water tight as such
I use needed to stop any fry disappearing up to the sieve

Just need to get a new drill bit for the pipe now

Any ideas what size wholes to let water and crap though but not 2 week fry ??

Cheers John . I asked Adam byer his opinion and I quote
    """
1mm would probably be ok. We hold them in 0.5mm hole size nets up to that point.

2mm might work . I think it would probably work . But it might be too large for the fry.

Im not sure a bottom drain system would be appropriate for 2-3 week fry.

If you had to , Id use a sponge filter or , make your holes around 0.5cm or even 1cm , and then use a covering of sponge or material for the first couple of months until the fry are large enough to not go through the holes """

    I quote

On pricing for fry .. this is yet to be set. In general ; the 2-3 week are around half the price of 6-8 week old fry. The 2-3 week old are supplied as unselected fry. with the 2-3 week old fry we include a small food pack to help their transfer to the new pond.

For anyone interested I suggest advising them to sign up to our waiting list , which just means they will get to hear about news updates including pricing and varieties etc at the earliest time. There is no commitment when signing onto the waiting list. The sign up form is on our fry sales page on the website.

I have a 4ins bottom drain no cover dome on it just open,I then use 4ins plunge pipe vertical in it just above water surface.
The pipe has vertical slits all round the base which is ok when they are big.

When small I use some of the above link to make a sleeve which slides over the pipe and sewn together with fishing line works well.

Think I'll give these a go for first few weeks/months it'll keep them closer to surface to better keep an eye on aswell

And I'll do 3mm wholes in the pipe work to and see how I get on

Got a surprise today Aj when I was topping up my small feed bucket for the fry as the 15 kg bag is nearly empty.
Thought I would have loads left over but the greedy buggers have got through it.

    It's only 2mm high protein.
