Adam Byer Jumbo Kohaku
I got a pair of Tosai Kohaku from Adam and Amanda which arrived today at 23cm & 25cm respectively. Very pleased with them, they look like they will grow well! Both very different to each other too. His Nisai sell so quickly or feline buys them all so I struggled to find what I was looking for when I found them to be available. Really happy with these two though

They look lovely. They should do well for you. Adam’s kohaku have the most beautiful shiroji. My new 2 have very different beni from each other as well as pattern (probably because one male but we will see).
Let us know how yours grow, it’s so interesting to see their development

I am excited to see how they get on as well, Adam was telling me they have the right shape to get big, as well as the fact that they were two of the biggest in the VAT of fish were all born at the same time and kept in the same conditions so clearly good growth potential!

Very nice! I'll have to consider Adam Buyer next time I'm looking for fish. He seems highly rated.

Nice Kohaku.
Would be interested in seeing these again at the end of summer to see how they developed.
What do you reckon, 38 - 40cm ?

I don't, they were from the £95 tank of Jumbo Tosai released on the 16th. I kind of feel like they could be from different parents due to the fact the one on the left in the picture looks a bit like the map of England koi and the one on the right is a more generic Kohaku pattern. I also don't know if this means anything in regards to the linage and if you would get both very different patterns from the same fish but just thinking out loud I guess. I can't wait to go there at some point and see it all though! Maybe when a imminent Nisai launch is coming later in the year

I think Adam has sold out of all Nisai kohaku. He has some other varieties of nisai left. It would be worth phoning him first to check how many of his jumbo tosai are left before going there for sure. He will have loads more available later on in the year as there have been some very successful spawnings.

Just reviving this thread after finding it when looking for the picture.
The Kohaku on the left grew well considering the crap summer we had last year, I took it from 25cm to 39cm so RS was spot on with his 38-40cm guess. Unfortunately the left kohaku lost all its beni and I moved it on, the right one got terrible mouth rot down the side which I couldn't save and ended up having to put it down.
This one was 27cm when I collected it on the 2nd of April this year so lets hope we have a bit more luck!

So far so good regarding the beni staying and looks like its growing too, I will update at the end of the season
