    My Cuttlebrook fry.

Looking good John My Cuttlebrook fry. some have grown really well.

The all white ones will be the Shiro Muji likely from a Kohaku spawn with no Hi.

Not sure on the others but likely to be Ochiba as I find these can vary a fair amount in colour.

I did not hear you mention Kikokuryu but I’m sure a lot of the metallic look like beni Kikokuryu but maybe they are matsuba My Cuttlebrook fry.

Keep us updated on progress My Cuttlebrook fry.

I quite like the yellow faces and white faces as they are different,a few Tancho some gin rin which I may keep.

The yellow face ones could well be Hariwake.

I have a few fry from Adam Byer. Was a chag, soragoi, ochiba and karashigoi mix.

Growing well and around 12 weeks old now. Not grown to your sizes though did you say 6”? That’s impressive I would say my largest it 3.5”

It's probably all that fresh mountain spring water John gets in North Wales that's aided their growth lol

    I was only joking..

One of mine looks white not quite as big as some of the ochiba, i think its a Karishigoi.

Yes most of my koi are from Cuttlebrook as they are very local to me, i only picked up the fry on a whim when i went to visit Adam for the first time back in September and being late in the season he did not have anything else available that caught my eye. also he has some stunners there that were not for sale!

Sometimes the water has a magnifying or demagnifying effect depending how far under the surface they are or what angle you are viewing them at

I think the shallower the angle the more short and fat they look. Maybe that's my problem but unfortunately there's not normally any water involved

Maybe you could put something in the tank as a bench mark so you can gauge their sizes better? A plastic ruler or something similar?
