That’s a small pond for all those koi
You sure it’s only 2000ltr?

7ft diameter x 4ft deep should work out about 4000ltr according to online calculator.

How many have you got?
Look ok to me and nice little koi, where are they from?
I would go easy on the food to let the filter mature and keep a strict eye on the water quality, have you a water test kit?John

Based on the numbers you’ve given of 7ft dia and 4ft deep; your pond will hold 4380 litres (960 imperial gallons) if filled to the brim.
It is important you note this for any future treatments you need to add, ignore what’s in the pipe work and filter as that will give you a small safety margin.
Also with that many fish that are that small in a reasonably small pond you need to be very careful when you purge the bottom drain as they will go down it if the gap is bigger than them on their side! Once a day is probably too frequent (unless this is your partial water change) and remember to use dechlorinator when topping up - it’s worth flushing the same amount every day so you add the same amount of dechlorinator each time - might be worth doing with a syringe to keep it as accurate as possible.Last edited by DiabloDave; 04-06-2020 at 07:19 PM.

Hi Angie,
Sorry for delay in replying,I use this test kit as it has all six tests
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NT-Labs-P...sAAOSw7GJexnd-
Easy to use as well.
I was going to get some from Cuttlebrook but they are sold out now and looks like you have some Kujaku there.
Try them with some soft food like mussels, you can buy them frozen in Asda and once they get used to them they go crazy, also try mealworms same as bird ones.
Good luck with them and keep us informed.John

thanks John I will have a look at getting some mussels,I’ve tried them with mealworms and they love them.
i think there are some Kujaku although they were not mentions in the varieties available they were kikisui that are now getting the black overlay so well chuffed with that.
these 3-4” that I got are from last years fry and I figured although they are small they wouldn’t have kept them all winter if there wasn’t something nice about them and I think there are some nice patterns so I’m very happy.
i will have a look at the test kit thanks for your help

25 koi in 900 gallons..................whoaaaaa!
Keep an eye on that water. Clarity is no assurance of quality when it comes to water, so test minimum of once per week.
Regular 10-20% water changes weekly and steady on the feed until the filter matures.
Be prepared to halve that stock level in 12 months time, and again in 2 years time. Its either that or build a bigger pond and filters.
25 Koi is 4000 Gallons stock.
