    Yet another one !

Went to the dealers today for some carbon and food, but came away with this Tancho Kujaku.

Now I know it's not the best Tancho head, but if it was I would have probably had to pay three times as much. but I was taken by the scale reticulation. and hoping when I put some bulk on it, the head colour will look a bit smaller.

Breeder is Oofuchi, and its 48cmcm. and probably male, but it looks really striking in the pond. So happy with it!DSC01126 (Large).JPGDSC01129 (Large).JPGDSC01133 (Large).JPG

That is beautiful mate. Reticulation is perfect.

Tancho spot is more than good enough.

Would be interesting to see another photo at the end of the season to see how it progresses. I think as it grows the Tancho spot will look better (less imposing into the body).

Been some very nice koi on the forum this year, let's hope there's a few more nice surprises to look forward to Yet another one !

That's a stunning fish, harder to find such refined and even reticulation compared to a perfect tancho from my limited experience

Stunning. Oofuchi seem to have mastered kujakus.

I've seen some before from them and they were stunning. One of my favourite types of koi. I can wait till I can get some in the pond.

Never had a Kujaku, but everything I've bought from Oofuchi, admittedly tosai at the cheap end of the scale, looked fantastic on purchase day but deteriorated fast.

It put me off buying his more expensive stuff because I wasn't sure if all his koi would turn bad in my water, or whether mine were just cheap low quality tosai with no future.

That's interesting to hear about oofuchi. I'll bear that in mind when I'm looking for kujakus. I've not heard much about them but all the kujakus I've seen from them are great.

I do agree that if you buy tosai oofuchi fish, then some can very quickly change for the worst, especially with Kujakus loosing their colour.

The very best tosai are held back in japan to grow on to Nissai (they make more money with them) The small fish they sell as tosai are not their best.

That is the reason that I now only buy 2 - 3 year old fish, due to them usually being finished fish. There are exceptions though lol

Could also just be my bad luck or poor buying choices. Only had 3 Oofuchi koi, which I suppose is a high percentage in a pond of 11 Dealer bought koi, but all 3 lost their colours or changed colour within a year.
My Sanke turned completely white, my lemon hariwake turned completely white and my Shusui turned black. All looked stunning when I bought them.

    That’s a lovely Tancho Kujaku.

Ive sold a good number of Kujaku Tosai this year and would have been proud to have supplied that one - great find and choice

    Cheers

Keep looking at the picture and the more I look the more i love it,to me absolutely stunning and would love it in my pond, looks Male to my inexperienced eye and at 48 cm would love to know who the dealer was and the price.

The spot is a little large but I like it that way and if it grows well it will come into proportion with his body.

Look after him mate and keep in touch with his progress, good buy.
