Quite a mix there John, and plenty of colour. They look like a right handful to maintain.
I saw what I think is a nice Ochiba amongst them too.
Sumi starting to come through on my Tancho Showa, I'm hoping it might turn into a nice fish. I'd have never considered buying a Tancho Showa but if this one turns out well it'll be a keeper for sure. Will get some pics tonight or tomorrow when I do the next water change.

Mine are in the lean-to (cheapo conservatory).
Been in there a Month now.
Gets very hot in the day and cold at night but they seem to cope fine.
They are very nervous and hide under a pipe every time I go near, but they started growing as soon as they went in. Its only 100 gallons so I think they'll outgrow it before Spring. Already doing 2 water changes per week and have to do it with buckets to temp match as the hosepipe is too cold.
Can't see the fish due to reflections on water surface, but will be cleaning them out today so will grab an updated pic when I drop water level.
How are you maintaining water quality with so many and what gallonage is their tank?
How often are you feeding? (Still feeding mine 5+ times per day).

Jesus christ Johnathan.
I feel sick at the thought of what could have happened mate, you must feel truly shaken up.
Is there anything left of the fairy lights? Appreciate its not the first thing on your mind but you need to expose them so it can't happen to anyone else. There's a Youtuber called John Ward who would be very interested in seeing those lights if there's anything left of them.
I hope you and your family can get everything sorted fast and back to normality to deal with faulty pond pumps!

When our Council flat was fire damaged (Flat above was firebombed) and flooded after fire brigade came, they wouldn't move us even though it was 4 days before the electrics were back on. We did all the work ourselves. It was back in 1995 ish so things have probably changed since then.
So are you going to have to go round there each day to feed the fish?
Do you know what make/model the night light / fairy lights were?
Been round and tested our smoke alarms since your post. Hopefully everyone reading this will do the same.

Hope so rs glad you have done . Na couple years old now wernt switched on either I think it was the plug just trying to think if the bed has knocked plug lose or anything but fire inspector is blaming fairy lights . 2 months in a premier inn bad and breakfast I think they said I'll find out in a couple hours when I get there . All electric is off so put a extension from nextdoor to run air pump and put pond on slow top up with hose. Digs only about 5 mins from house like so checking on them ain't to hard like

Whole thing sounds like a nightmare, its all of our worst nightmares and I really feel for you and the family.
Hopefully the Council will get on with it quickly.
Funny you say that about the plug. I have my Grandad's old car battery charger which he bought in 1968, I use it regularly but sometimes it doesn't come on which I put down to a dodgy safety cut-out on the extension lead I use. Yesterday I moved the wire and it stopped working again, heard a bit of shorting from the plug so I whipped plug off. The insulation had come off all 3 wires as they go into the plug and the live and neutral in constant contact with each other. Have no idea how it had worked for so long and to think I have left it on all night before.... And the Smoke alarm in the garage doesn't work, which I now know thanks to you!
Some advice about Insurance....
I worked in this industry and have seen the devastation caused by uninsured houses and had first hand experience when in desperation a customer tried to blame me for not being covered when her entire thatched cottage burned down (she gave me her card details but they were declined, she then asked if I could take the payment in a few days time on her pay day. I told her on recorded line I could not use her card details to do that as she needed to be on the phone to authorise the payment. I tried to call her back 3 times on her pay day but no answer. Fortnight later she lost everything but claimed I'd agreed to debit her card on pay day. Can't blame her for trying.
That's just one of many similar situations I've seen.
Thing is, when you apply for insurance most will ask "Have you had any uninsured losses in the last 3 years", and you have, which means they won't provide cover. You need to find a company that either does not ask this question or will not penalise you for it. Its an easy question to miss when doing quotes online (because its usually pre-filled) and answering no would invalidate your cover.
Hope that extension lead is well protected from the weather mate.

Cheers for the heads up . Its 100percent my fault with the insurance so I'll take it on the chin . I've got a mate who is a broker for many years now he started the business and now the kids are moving up so knows his stuff so hopefully he be able to do as you say and get one that dosent ask or at least dosent rape me to much . Need to go out tomorrow and buy a load of pipe and lagging . Thought about a suitcase geni but dont wanna piss all the people off to much
