Tosai now at 34.5 weeks old.

Sorry about picture quality, phone packed up so used wife's which over processes the images.

They look smaller than they are so I had a measure up.

    Orange one: 32cm
    Brown one (Shiro): 31cm
    Grey one (Tancho) 30cm
Small one: Didn't measure, but it's still small, maybe 23cm ish.

So they are no longer growing quite a full 1cm per week, but temps have been down to 13C and they are still in just 380 litres of water. That equates to 3.3 litres per 1cm of fish lol!

Feeding 3 - 6 times per day, mainly Saki Growth, and mussels twice a week.

Crazy when you think they looked like this at the end of June:

Thank you for the kind comments, really encouraging.

Am quite pleased with the growth in a small tank. Fancy Goldfish fry don't grow anything like this! But the huge water changes are a proper chore twice a week.

Fred, yeah I got the bug now, but not the space. The conservatory is full of midges, 1000's of them. The wife not happy and said I can't grow fry in there next year. She won't give me planning permission to build a fish house either as I already have 2 sheds and a double garage full of hobby stuff.

John, we need to see pics of yours mate, and the sieve when its done.

The tancho Showa is a keeper for sure. Will also keep either the Shiro (hoping red patch on side will get covered by black), or the small one, haven't decided yet but most likely keep the Shiro.

The orange one is a mutt, and it looks skinny, but I think it could grow very long. My Kirin was skinny at Tosai, now it's the fattest in the pond.

Bit of a lazy photo, but here they are at 39 weeks old.

Starting to look really overcrowded in this vat now, 70% water changes every 3 to 4 days. Keeping them in this volume would not be possible if my tap water had a low KH...... Feeding 5 to 6 times a day and the KH of 12 gets depleted after about 5 days before PH starts dropping. Nitrates go sky high!

Adding the friendly and tame Metallic Ochiba has completely changed their behaviour, they don't cower in the corner when you're in the room any more, they follow the Ochiba up and wait for the food to go in.

No running water downstairs for 3 weeks due to renovation works, so have started dropping temperature ready to reduce feeding and water change frequency.

Estimated sizes are 32-34cm for the biggest 3.

Thanks John. That Flexi is fit for purpose, not the prettiest but very robust and solvent welds easily.

I want to put them out asap and will do so on the first day there's a natural temperature match.

Also need to decide which 2 to move on. Think it will be the orange one and maybe the small one.
