Insurance companies are completely taking the piss now think they trying to follow energy companies. .

We paid 450 a year for the vectra swopped to a freelander and a new policy of 1700 !!!

On a couple forums for fl2 and a 56 yo man 20+ no claims 3000 Miles a year had the same car for 10 years and this year has gone from 350 till 2500 !!!!

I think my van insurance was more than my car insurance last year. Both are fully comp but van is full business use. 1.7 litre turbo diesel van compared to a 2.3 litre Focus RS

A part of the reason behind the price increase for insurance is that the FCA banned insurers from charging more when a policy automatically renews, than if that person were a new customer.

The reason being is that the elderly and vulnerable consumers are far more likely to let a policy auto renew than shop around for a better deal. So it was deemed that the practice was disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable in society.

The upshot is that now insurers can't profiteer so much on auto renewals, they just charge everyone more across the board regardless. Plus the current high levels of inflation is an easy excuse to hide behind to justify increases.

Mad isn't it, it always used to drop, mine got down to about £175 4-5 years ago and has steadily been increasing since. It was £270 last year but up to £450, but thats because I had my first ding and it was my fault so I was grateful it wasn't worse tbh.

I don’t use the comparison sites, it’s a bit of a fixed market, they all seem to be related in some way. I’ve been with Direct Line for the car for around six years now, had a LR Discovery 4 with then for under £400, last three years with a Volvo xc60 coming is just over £300, though I am hearing they have been putting up the prices, come July I’ll find out.

Haha, no, she decided to not go at a junction when there was space for her, me and probably an arctic to get out considering how far up the road you could see and the distance of the approaching car!

Maybe she was still waving at the person she crashed into last week?

You could try Christian Wheatley at Keith Michaels insurance. That's who I'm with and when I had my 700 bhp Evo 9 he was the cheapest. If I find his number I'll PM it to you OK
