Covid Got me in the end...

for the last 2 years i've not had a cough, cold, or anything as i'm being very careful...
Just had the night from hell, fever, chills, head splitting, and coughing a lung up i'm still shaking and shivering now.

the missus has been sick since friday with a chest infection but she said she did a covid test and said it was negative.

i suddenly felt really ill yesterday, so did a test myself and was positive, so made the missus do another covid test...properly...this time.
    and she's positive as well...

must remind myself never to trust her testing the water parameters

    Get well soon Dave.

Still not had my dose of it, despite the kids having had it twice each. I'm sure it will come at the worst time, probably when my booster jab's completely worn off.

Strange how it works, my teenage son had zero symptoms the first time (tested positive the day after his first jab and took 15 days before a negative test) but the most recent time didn't get out of bed for 3 days despite being fully vaccinated.

My dad in his mid 70's is not in good health, and we thought he was a gonnerwhen he contracted covid last month, but came through it without a hospital visit. It was touch and go mind.

While on the subject, is anybody reporting positive test results anymore?

I know 6 or 7 people who've had covid over the last month and not a single one reported it, which begs the question, how do they determine the daily cases? Are they estimated, or are they well short of reality?

Might be able to answer my own question - 500 - 700 deaths a day but under 20,000 cases. Looks like they just aren't getting reported, and the volume of deaths isn't making headlines either that I've seen.

This is where I keep track, lots of data, but beware it can take a couple of minutes to load the page especially if on a mobile:

no, not reporting it, whats the point?
goverment don't give a crap anymore... they've washed thier hands of it...death rate is as high as it was in feb last year...

same here though, you just don't know how it's going to affect you...
father in law, 80 odd, bad heart, asthma, poor health, positive test.... no symptoms....
my parents 75 and 79 lifelong smokers, COPD, just over a week sick, and another week to recover.
30 year old girl where i used to work, didn't make it....

me and missus symptoms are similar,
shes had it 5 days longer than me, (she gave it to me) and still got bad cough and still aching.

first 2 days the worst headache of my life, fever chills, everything aches like mad.
then blocked/runny nose and the cough starts,

    but everyones different...
my brother in bed for 3 weeks with it, and off work for 2 months.
