All we ever got was cold,

I have made these contraptions for fancy goldfish years ago.
They need a fair bit of fine tuning to make them work and its extremely difficult to perfect them.
If you notice on videos where other people have used the idea you will see the fish is still gradually sinking to bottom or floating to top as it is in the first few seconds of the video AJ posted (the video always cuts out as it starts to lose buoyancy and then cuts back in again with the fish in a different position), or the fish is stuck in one place at mid-water level because it cannot properly use its fins, or its dorsal fin is fully squashed down so it rolls over eventually.
After while the fish gets sores that will not heal with the contraption fitted.
It can also be difficult to get the fish in and out of the jacket without damaging or stressing it.
But still, it is good that people try to save them.
