Exclusive carp fishery needed for 50th.
Hi all,
For my recent 50th looking to book a lake somewhere for 5 days approx, prefer accomodation as opposed drive and survive, want the whole lake to ourselves, will be approx 3 to 4 anglers, need to beat some pb's so really carp mid twenties + to 30's needed..... not after a runs water but not after something dead hard either, be nice to get a few out, just wondering if anyone had reccomendations..... cheers Steve.

hi
i'd go for france every time but i'm bias i have a little place in southwest france and private use of a lake and a large pond .
if i fly out iv'e sat with lads going to www.murhyslakefrance.com they all seem to have enjoyed themselves. just had a quick look at their website and they give allsorts of options from how you live for the week to being feed twice a day. dont even have to take all your bulky tackle just take your terminal tackle they supply the rest.
I fly into Bergerac airport so ryanair and jet 2 if you not driving down.
Tight lines

I've never fished it, but how about Yately Pads lake. I understand you can book that out exclusively.

Pads is a great option if you can get it booked, I went with some friends a while back now but between us in 4 nights we had 28 fish including 6 over 30. I was lucky enough to have a 36lb5oz and 37lb mirror within 2 casts off the top. I looked at angling paradise recently out of curiosity and they actually have a lot of different fishing with plenty of carp lakes for all skills it seems and I think the week in may we looked at was about £1100 for 7 nights in a cabin, so could be ideal for a social!

I’m only a couple of miles from Yateley but don’t really fish there, far too busy these days for me.

You hire the whole lake at pads. Here is the 36.5 and 37 I managed. Any excuse to stick a couple of pics up, I am hopefully joining somewhere new this spring and have got the buzz for fishing harder than I have had for the past 5 years or so!

Bring carp into the UK? you would need to get documentation etc so it is doable if the right procedures are followed although a large percentage of carp anglers in the UK do not want to fish for imported carp here, preferring to fish for English bred carp. Imports have a bit of a stigma here and a lot of anglers wouldn't fish for them or count them as such.

@samp09, aware of pads lake booking system, never fished there either although wouldn’t mind a session there to be honest. Always looks nice in pictures and articles.
Gotta keep those frenchie fish in France, plenty of places over here to buy big force fed kippers if that’s your thing, keep it real lol

I was also interested in wild carp of European origin because of the success of crossbreeding with wild Koi to improve their body shape such as Matsunosuke and Konishi Karashigoi etc, I compared various videos, but I think the French wild carp seemed to be better.
Would DAINICHI or MARUSEI be a better choice for this body type?

However, we hope that the ecology will change so that it will be possible to feed them during the winter?
It seems that the differences in the ecology of the KOI appear in winter when the crosses are repeated close to the original species.

When it comes to normal carp, we are spoilt for choice really but for me it has to be a nice dark one. I prefer mirror carp (Doitsu) as the waters I have fished locally are all full of common carp (full scaled).
These are the sort of carp we love here (well me anyway!)
