Didn’t they say how long it would take when you booked it in, that sucks on day like today.
The only thing to do at a time like this is trawl all the dealer sites and find a new koi.

BMW Dealer (Stealer) network customer service is a complete joke at the vast majority of Dealers. Heard a lot of horror stories.
On one occasion it took me almost a year to get some paintwork done under their anti-corrosion warranty, they were just not interested because there was nothing in it for them, and I couldn't switch to a different Dealer because the warranty ran out 3 months after I submitted the claim.
I never use them for work or servicing, either do it myself or use an independent specialist.

The mechanic is probably new to BMWs and is still looking for the indicator stalk. We all know they don't fit them in BMWs

About 18years ago...
I was impressed with my local dealer after my 4 year old Mondeo died 150 miles from home.
Dead, nothing, no dash lights dead ...
battery 100% ok
Fuses 100% ok
Breakdown truck took it to Cov dealer and he said £1800!
Inc... new ecu, coding, keys,
£1800 was a lot of cash 20 years ago!
Took it to my local dealer instead for 2nd opinion by car transporter.
wiring loom to ecu damaged...
Repair cost £35.....
