    Cooler Temps!

Hi Guys, With the temps up and down, I decided to open a new bag of Hikari Wheat Germ and take them of the balance. I don't no whether it because it something different. But they've taken to it straight away and are smashing it!

Didn’t think of that, mine are feeding but as they normally do at this time of year, I might try them on some wheat germ tomorrow.
what temp are you at. I’m at 18 at the moment.

i'm at 20C but still include 20% hikari wheatgerm in my mix to aid digestion, along with saki balance and colour.
not doing saki growth this year...

wheatgerm is not as nutritional as balance so they will be more hungry on it

Hi Dave. Have you reached your cut off point for your growth then? I was told by Chris from Kitsu Koi, that one of the Top Champion koi owners only feeds Hikari wheatgerm all year round. Their climbing over one another to get to it! I'm really enjoying watching them feed on it. That what I will feed, when the water warms up to 18c, Balance, wheatgerm and Colour.

Weathers crap at the moment isn't it! I was at 19 on Sunday but haven't looked since the cold weather yesterday and rain. I'm feeding FD build up 3-4 times a day and they are doing fine on it currently which is nice having just been through 3 weeks of treatment! I do have some leftover saki balance sinking from last year but am not feeding it until it's 20+ as the FD can be fed down to something like 9 degrees?

Was the warmest May on record apparently according to the main stream bs'ers or shall I say media! So warm that many people had to turn their heating on

Yeah,I thought the pond would have been up to 17,18c. It started so well. Really happy, I started on the wheatgerm. The slime coat is sparkling on the Fish.

It's an age thing for me,
balance is still a 'growth' food but not an aggressive growth food.
growth is best for rapid growth in tosai to yonsai imo,
once past that, i think they do better on a more digestable food mix.
