Sinking food brands
Hi,
Sort of this is already somewhere within the threads but I was just looking for abit of advice on sinking foods.
I know all the pros and cons etc but just wanted to know which brands people think or have worked best for them in regards to sinking food.
Thanks
Danny

Have you considered sturgeon pellets?
They're normally cheaper than high end growth koi pellets and have a high level of fishmeal based protein and high oil content.
Mind you, I'd probably only feed them when your water is 20C+. Anything below that and your koi will end up built like barrels.

I had some sinking pellets from koi logic "Ogata koi farm' pellets they sell which seemed pretty good. I am tempted to get another bucket for a auto feeder when I'm out as I know floating pellets will end up down the skimmer!

Thank you both, I’ve not thought of sturgeon pellets but I understand what you mean in regards to temps and food makeup it’s something I’m extremely conscious of.
I’ll check out Ogata

Sinking pellets are good for those fish that dont like to come to the surface ie nervous nerys types .. . Only fools and horses fans may get that
Problem is you will not see your fish at the surface feeding unless you are going to mix floating and sinking
sinking will drive ALL the fish to the bottom to feed1000 gal

I second what wain says.
I have sturgeon so have to feed sinking pellets and as a result many of the fish are finicky when feeding at the surface when im nearby.
So if you want them to feed by hand you'll have a harder time getting them to do so if you give them the option of feeding off the bottom.

Cheers guys, I’ve weighed that up but the advantages of feeding on the bottom out weigh my need to feed them solely on top. I’ll of course mix but I’m thinking for the greater good
