New! Mr sakai's premium food
The water barns sakai grow on competition was to promote the new Mr sakai's premium food, if you bought 2 fish you got a free 4kg which i did, so been using it in my grow on vat for a few weeks and i must say, the waste is tremendous, i thought id carry on as its a different food to the others in there are used to and lower the feeds on the feeder still tonnes of waste, then came home the other day and went to check on them and the water was completely trashed, brown and so many fines in the water you could only just see the bottom. did a test there and then and the ammonia was .50 and nitrites were between .25 and .50 and they are usually spot on. So far im not impressed

It's a shame when highly acclaimed food/equipment designed/created by experts fails to deliver. Thanks for sharing.
Reminds me of the premium JPD food I bought at £55 for 5kg.... "Only made in Japan". Turns out it is Coppens food made in the Coppens factory!
This Summer I'll be trying out Coppens Top Koi.

It is the same in all walks of life, as soon as you put a title on something the price shoots up! normal fish pellets fish farms use are cheap as chips but if you re bag them as Koi pellets suddenly they are expensive.Hire a village hall for a kids party its £30 but say its a wedding £300 etc bloody con artists!

Same with cars mate.
A BMW headlight auto-adjustment rod made out of tin rusts and snaps.
Normal 3 series = £12
M3 = £64
Both rods are identical, just the mount that attaches to the wishbone is a different size due to the different sized wishbones between the models.
As soon as you say "M" the price triples.

Thing is with the JPD, their website claims all their food is actually made in Japan by JPD. They imply all of the benefits of the food are down to the special ingredients available in Japan etc..... Hard to trust them when you discover the food is made at Coppens. Give it a few Months and I wonder if it will still contain fish meal, or will they suddenly discover insect meal is now the best thing, seeing as Coppens have moved all their own foods to insect meal.
As for the Saki, being a new food its good to hear individual thoughts from people who've used it.
