Using 'Landscapers' who turn out to know nothing about plants nor anything about how to build a pond (including not knowing how to follow your instructions and diagrams). Add to that that they know not what a Spirit Level is or how one should be used!

My’n is the myriads of different sizes of BSP/ solvent weld and air pump pipes and fittings I’ve got thousands.
Hi Pete I’m a builder, and landscapers are generally failed builders. Whom think they can get away without using a level! I’ve not had good experiences with sub contract landscapers.
That is an official black book complaint.

Does anyone know someone near me in Basingstoke Hampshire UK who can tell what if anything how much my fish are worth as I need to sell them as pond needs a complete rebuild due to not knowing what I was doing when I built it In 2013 it’s all worked well clear water from day one but the construction is slowly giving way.

Best bet would be buying a temp intex pool to keep them in or if selling maybe best offers the resale of fish I don't find all that high in price if you have breeds papers you ll get a bit more for them

Thanks for the reply it’s going to take a fair few months to rebuild the whole pond and I don’t really want to leave the fish in a pond with limited filtration it would ahave box and pump but not as good as the pond has. And maybe to sale of the fish will help in a small way toward the funding of the new one. Or I may just sell the whole lot and have done with it.

Your koi survive the coldest winter for a while with no signs of stress, only to get riddled with parasites and issues when the water hits 20 degrees

No koi keeping situation is ever sufficiently bad that it can’t get worse.

Whenever you think ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’ Something you never expected - that’s much worse than you anticipated - happens.

Solvent weld alignment looks easy. Looks really easy. Isn’t easy at all on 4” "Koi's Law"

yeah it can catch people unaware especially if you have solvent welded 110mm soil pipe that is very easy.

some easy pitfalls of solvent welding 4" pressure pipe.
4" pressure pipe is supposed to be solvent welded by 2 persons.

different pipe and fitting manufacturers have different tolerances, some are very tight and others loose.
buy all the same brand if possible.

using the correct type of PVC solvent weld cement.
there are different types of pressure pvc cement based on pipe diameter and welding conditions.
weldon fast and wet type glues are thin and set super fast, so fast they often set before inserting fully.
4" is usually the maximum diameter but you will struggle sometimes.

Tangit has more open time allowing a bit of leaway to get it lined up. and is rated up to 400mm
open time is also temperature dependant...
