The Daily pond temp thread
South Norfolk
Good afternoon all! & Happy new year to you.
Outside in the open it’s 12.4°C & 88%Rh, in the shade (sic) it’s 10.7°C the Polytunnel is sitting @ 8.8°C pond water @ 9.3°C,
I was on the lookout for a new wifi water probe thermometer system, the previous posts show a picture of an In/Out display is that a probe water thermometer, if so what is it marketed as, & from where?
All my Koi are looking fine, & still up for food when I walk in the Polytunnel! I gave in & gave a very fine sprinkle of wheatgerm, about three days ago (when sunny).
Keep on being lucky
Cheers.

the wireless probe i have is a pool thermometer
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but i'm looking at getting something that hooks up to a wifi signal and logs the pond tempertature daily.
lots of choices on amazon....just a case of deciding which to go with...

10.3 in the pond still but not fed since Thursday as when the cold snap comes I will be turning off the drum again and covering the tap to avoid another freeze up. Water change tomorrow then probably not feed till its warmer again in a week and hopefully we don't lose too much temperature in the ponds!

Pond is still at 12.9C/13C
and i'm still feeding 3 x 25g a day of balance.
good job i didn't buy a load of wheatgerm or multiseason as i haven't needed it.
i have the window cover off during the day now, as the fish seems to enjoy the view.
but they are going bonkers for food everytime i walk past, but i'm not feeding any more at this temp, as it will just make them fat....
the ginrin chag looks like it might be the biggest fish in the pond come spring though....

Picked up some 100mm thick insulation board for the window today, didn't have cash and the old boy couldn't be bothered to do an invoice so got it for free! It's a place local who sell seconds rather than a builders merchant, plenty good enough for me though!!

thats £1500 for 6 months of coal, when you can get logs for free!
they can't say the pits are not profitable now eh?
i went to school right next to kersley colliery, they said it had 200 years worth of coal, and was a 'job for life' if you got in....
about time they opened some new ones up,
the warwickshire seam comes right out of the ground and can be open cast mined,
but it's in a 'posh' area around kenilworth....so the nimby's won't have it.

Yep and same again for the 6 months electricity!! Oo what fun . Few nights now I've just turned every thing off and watched the fire . 1 because it's cheaper and 2 because there is bugger all on the telly haha . .
Give me a pick and canary I'll sharp go down any mine it's all pit villages around here wonder if I can reopen one on the quiet lol would even be able to heat the pond up with it lol

Was at 9.9 first thing yesterday morning, 9.6 before bed at 10:30pm and 9.2 this morning. The lack of filter pit cover where I am losing the heat but still not the worst with the rest covered.
