Still heated to around 16, Looking forward to this warmer weather coming in to up it to a consistent 18 though, maybe even 20! I want to see some growth at some point this year! Currently feeding 5 times a day from around 7am-9pm roughly 8-10g at a time, not sure if that's a lot for 9 koi but they aren't looking skinny nor rounded so seems to be ok. Once the water temp gets nearer 20 I will add another feed, maybe an extra one for every degree although might really up it tbh as not sure if underfeeding or what I need to feed for growth!

My temps not achieving anywhere near many of you guys.
Generally ranging between the high 13's and low 14's but most of the time around 13.8C and has been down to 13.4/5 over the last few days.
Not seen temp above 14.4 at all yet this year, and was over 17C this time last year.

Further to above I just checked last 3 years pond temps at end of May / beginning of June to compare against this year:
3rd June 2018 = 23C (Didn't record temps for May)
15th May 2019 = 15.5C and 26th May 2019 = 20C
17th May 2020 = 15.5C and 31st May 2020 = 20C
Now for 2021 figures:
5th May = 11.1C
15th May = 13.6C
26th May = 13.5C
A good 5-6 degrees lower than last 2 years, and a lot lower than 2018.Last edited by RS2OOO; 27-05-2021 at 09:40 AM.

Pond at 16.5c this morning, forecast air temp today 19c so expecting it to go up a little more today.
Nice at last to have my morning coffee sat at pond watching active fish swimming near the surface.

Got up to 20 briefly today, now at 19.9. I have the heater set around 19 now so it won't go below it and warms up quickly the next day. Lets hope they start growing!

Been up at 21c for about two weeks now (ASHP) - At ambient of 15c, was on for about 3 hours a day max. Approx 30p a day to keep my pond up at those temps. With it being this warm, and how long it takes for the pond to lose heat, I don't think I'll need much running on the ASHP at all at the moment. Debating bumping things up a bit warmer to kickstart summer even earlier, but not quite sure yet!

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
