Get up, eat jelly, sandwich bars and barbed wire,
Squash every week into a day.

13.6 this morning but with the heater. Roll on the end of the week when the temps finally get towards where they should be this time of year and hopefully the heater can go off within the next week or so!

up to 14 now, not sure if its the heater or the bit of sun but the wind and air temp certainly don't feel like 14!

I gained nearly 2c over the course of today, up to 11.4c by 4 p.m, presumably due to the sun heating the water as it passes through the filter in the polytunnel.. the potential downside being if it drops all the way back overnight. I'll be glad when everything settles down and we get some stability.

Well last Friday I was up to 14.5( unheated) today 9.4, haven't fed fish since Sunday when it had dropped to 10. It's got to warm up soon,,,,,,,, hasn't it?

Covers have been on for 2 days and nights just been out to give them a little bit of sunlight. There was a sheet of ice on the covers and temp dropped to 12

God stability would be great... Down to 9.00 now, best temp for today here is 8.00 according to the forecast so expect the pond to be at 8.5 by tomorrow morning
This should be the last low temperature for a couple of weeks, and forecast of between 12 and 16 for the next 10 days <fingers crossed>

Crazy stuff aint it.
So a night of being woken by rain and hail, pond temp at 8:30a.m just into double figures at 10c, forecast for next couple of days still for rain and unseasonably low temps. If the met office has it right though they are showing temps rising over the weekend so fingers crossed.
Poor fish could do without this weird weather after such a hard winter, and I'm fed up of building mini bubblewrap green houses in the polytunnel every evening to protect under developed seedlings that should be planted and growing away in there by now.

South Norfolk
Hi guys, just another typical Spring? Cold, wet, windy, sunny??
What’s next typhoons or twisters?
Outside in the open it’s 7.7°c & 84%RH & raining (yes we finally got some over this last week!) in the shade it’s 6.4°c.
Inside the Polytunnel it’s been up to high twenties near thirty? Currently it’s 12.5°c, the Pond mirrors that & 12.4°c.
Really cold nights & frosts, having its effect. Have had the pond up to 13.8°c @ one time lately.
All Koi looking good, & are one one feed per day, on auto feeder.
The temperature might start climbing in the next week, if you believe the forecast?
Keep on being Lucky guys
Happy Voting day, don’t forget your pencil & mask?

I'm afraid I have to refer to the Japanese example again.
https://tsuri-suru.com/wp-content/up...uion_graph.gif
If the pond is not heated, most advanced KOI keepers will resume feeding just about now, when the water temperature is above 15°C. However, until June, when the water temperature rises above 20 degrees Celsius, the feeding is kept to a very low level. Of course, the KOI will have a big appetite and will want to eat, but it is the taste of an expert to hold back.
