Cool night, 8a.m air temp 7.1c ... Pond 7.2c
Air temp only meant to be 8c today but sunny so that may even things up with the filter being in the polytunnel. A few cool days ahead though but nothing that looks of concern.

8.5 just now, did reach 9+ yesterday so cold nights knocking it a little. Decided to treat for blanket weed with resolve just now too, the bits were starting to float about and grow so I have put a stop to it now. Done the first water test for a while and all was fine so pleased the filters are still doing their job. Have been feeding a small amount each day too so the cycle will be in motion.

Two lilly leaves just off the water surface, one unfurling and see plenty of leaves pushing up from the rhizomes
flake and wheatgerm again and taken quickly, all fish to surface

Cold night, -1c at 4a.m ... 8a.m air temp 0c .. pond down to 6.5c.
Fish still active and asking for grub but nothing going in.. plenty of sun on the polytunnel today if the forecast is right so that should help warm the water as it passes through the filter. I'll take any gain I can at this time of year

Haven't checked the temperature today, but imagine it's around 6.7. Treated with aqua resolve half dose on Friday but hasn't really broken it down as much as I expected I guess due to the crap temperatures. I used the swimming pool brush to scrape the worst off the sides as I was fed up of the long trailing strands of blanket weed, then used clay to try and catch the worst of the bits and clog them up. I have then added some filter floss in my skimmer basket and on top of my filter after the vortex to catch as much crap as possible and will go out every couple of hours to hose the worst off to get it out the system. Hopefully I will have nice crystal clear water in a few days with the fines mostly removed!

It certainly does my little dog insisted on walking on the grass verge when we went out... he came out with blue legs and a blue belly cos he's only titchy.. missus wasn't best pleased his white bits had changed colour lol.
Anyhow... late getting temp today as I've been commissioning my new little header pond that's going to get plants in it
13:30 hrs air temp 8c ... pond temp 6.9c .. looking like these cold nights are going to be with us a while yet.
