Was back down to 13 at one point with some heat Pump issues over the last few days. Still waiting for the bleeding polycarb to arrive. Pumps up and running and now a barmy 21 again with an upgraded version arriving tomorrow.
Going by the stories of temps holding with just covers the koi are in a 5 star hotel over winter, with a continuing high protein dinner service . .....Fibreglassed/5000 gals/4.5 m Tunnel/Spindrifter/Twin drums/Bio chambers/Beads/Showers/Remora ASHP

That looks the nuts!
Would be very interested to hear what the actual running costs are!
I was looking at their cheaper white inverter versions, what's the main difference between those and your new one?

Im pretty sure its the same pump with a different branding! The main reason was the 9kw wasn't available on the Proteam until early November, the 11 was but would of cost another hundred quid, although I was tempted.
The Remora is their own brand also so I think they are more likely to stick by it, and it has a 3 year on site warranty as opposed to 2 on the Proteam. The COP is also listed at 18.5 on the Remora v 14.8 on the proteam. I think the fact they were willing to exchange the original unit for new on overnight delivery speaks volumes for the Remora warranty, and he also offered a full refund. One more point the Remora up to 11 kw are plug and play with an inline RCD supplied. (ie no professional electrical connection required. (although I supect you could just use a 3 pin plug on the proteam)Last edited by Spongebob; 25-10-2020 at 10:49 AM.

South Norfolk
Guys it’s been pretty wet with cooler nights, but some nice bright sunshine, the forecast is for potentially frost, in the nights, over the next few days?
Out in the open @ 1045 this morning it’s 14.3°c & 62% RH, in the shade it’s 10.9°c!
My pond has hung on to about 14°c + over recent weeks, & for the first time has dropped into 13.6°c overnight!
My koi are now on two feeds a day, of wheat germ & multiseason, they are still pretty active, but you can see the signs of slowing down, becoming a bit more slow almost disinterested in my entering the polytunnel! (Getting to cold for treats now!)
The air temp in there is 22.3°c right now! (Closed up) so by the days end will probably bring the pond back up to 14°+?.
Stay Lucky guys & stay safe!

I saw a drop today in West Cambridgeshire - Pond went from 15.5c (where it's been for a week) to 15.2c at 9.50am, outside temp 8.5c. Still no insulation on pipes, just 35mm polys. At night now, once in-pond lights are off, the fish are resting on the bottom most of the time, but during the day and when the lights are on at night they are all up and about, mostly at the windows, wagging their tails for food! Still feeding 4 times per day on Wheatgerm at the mo and fish would gobble up more if given the chance

What equipment are you using to monitor your temps? I see some of you have apps so wondering what tech you are using as I’m looking to buy some?
Thanks

No high tech gadgets and apps for me, but I've used these for 3 years and couldn't be happier:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07...b_b_asin_title
They are surprisingly accurate and very easy to read with nice big digits. I use 2 at a time to ensure consistency of readings. They are not waterproof but I've accidently gotten them wet, and even dropped them where they've broken apart and put them back together again. Still work! I've also never changed the batteries yet and they are used pretty much every day.
I love having the redundancy of 4, and have often needed to use them all when I've got fish in bowls or the Intex. Great for ensuring acclimatisation when transferring fish.
I've now got an Oase Proficlear that gives me a constant 2 digit temp reading in my filter house, and these aquarium thermos have been in line with that without fault.
Can't knock 'em for price and versatility .... plus Fred uses them too, so that's gotta count for somethingLast edited by Koiz; 29-10-2020 at 08:16 AM.
