I'm at 8.3C with covers on. Although opened the covers up earlier to get some sunlight/warmth into the pond.

mine is sitting at 14C atm still unheated.
i'm taking the covers off during the day, and back on at night.
and i'm not using the window insulation
as i have a nice 4" air gap where that was, to get more air movement as temps start to go up.

Must get some covers this year to help stabilise the temps. Poor fish have been up and down like a don't know what this winter .

Gotta be time to uncover ain't it?
I usually wait until Fred's no lower than 8c at night rule but I dunno if I can wait any longer!

i hate seeing the pond covered up during the day, but don't want the night time lows pulling the temp down too much...
so i compromise... and pop the covers off at 9am and back on at 8pm, only takes a minute or two.
so i get to enjoy the pond all day, and keep most of the heat in overnight.

I hate having them on tbh but if I am not about much at home to see them etc I don't mind as it keeps the temps up at least!

I took the shower polycarb off today so i can get the covers off during the day otherwise i can only lift the middle one up, had them off all day today so gave the undersides a clean, im sure the covers get heavier each year. The pond was spotless apart from the shower tray which was covered in thick algea, think im going to put a pergola over it this year and polycarb the sides during the winter, bored of only seeing the fish 6 months a year
