Thanks Steve, I found multiple still on my Asagi after the double Fluke M treatment so have tried the S but still seeing regular flicking on the asagi and goshiki. The black has faded to a more silver now on my goshiki which I wonder if its because of the flashing. I should have PP'd initially but I was reluctant to use it without more reason to, however the other path I have chosen has been fruitless too as although my Showa that had excess mucus seemed to look a lot better after the fluke M, its starting to get a little back again now so there's certainly something going on.

    Further to my Polytunnel post,
    dbs
I have not posted any pics of the shade & setup! So best way is to describe it, & photograph it when next up?

My pond was built about 2006 with a Pergola over it, that was fine until I had a Heron loss, I scared the beejeasus out of it when it came back for more, so they are clever birds, so I watched how it was getting into my garden then under my netted pergola! I looked into electric scarers, water jets etc... & decided to go for total enclosed. My pond is approx 6mx5m then priced up poly, various sizes & colours, but decided on a tunnel, again to buy new I couldn’t get near enough sizes or costs.
By now you may have gathered, I’m a retired Aerospace Engineer & begrudge paying for anything I can build or adapt cheaper myself.
I discovered a polytunnel in a field not far from me, it was tattered torn & bent? So I sought out the owner & arranged a very good deal! I had to remove what I wanted, & ship to my home.
    Remember I mentioned adapt?
The dimensions of the frame wouldn’t fit under my pergola so had to bend & shorten the curved hoops, also fit into the ground, the sockets, then finagle & adapt to suit.
Sorry it’s got like my life story!!

So I had a frame inside my pergola, after sheeting up (done in three parts, two ends independent of the main)
The first few years I noticed the incredible benefits of the tunnel, & although it was originally intended only for winter, I changed my mind, it became permanent 365/24/7.
Now the last few summers (global warming?) have been extra sunny/Hot so the sail shade comes into use, it fits above the Polytunnel, but under the pergola, using the sail shade fixing kits, to allow for tensioning up after installation.
The pergola stops wind getting under the sail, so only the occasional retensioning is required?
I think that’s the end of chapter 76 of my life? Any more questions feel free!
Sorry again for the prolonged answer, the last paragraph would have sufficed.

    Stay Lucky

Thankfully another nice day here, pond was 19c first thing this morning, now sat at 21.5c, looks like the warmth is starting to help with some pretty nasty carp pox 2 of my fish smaller have been suffering with so hoping the temps can last a while.

It started off sunny here east coast of Norfolk, now clouded over, so air temps are 18 and pond temperature is at a steady 16.4, not great but okay for the moment, UV off for treatment so happy for a couple of overcast days that are still warm The Daily pond temp thread

My pond got up to 20 today. Enjoyed sitting by the pond with a brew and watching the fish. Transferred two over from the grow on tank today. If they settle in ok and water parameters stay good, will get another two over next weekend.

It makes a big difference certainly, I have measured a few of mine whilst doing a salt bath and found my 2 Byer Kohaku are already 2cm longer, and my momotaro showa has grown from 26cm in October when I purchased it to 28.5cm today so fingers crossed now its finally over 20 I can try and get them all over 40cm this year!

up to 23.3 I think it was today, 23.1 when I fed them at 21:30. Leaving the heater on overnight set around 21 to maintain the temp although tbh I probably don't need it. Fish are happy enough, Goshiki is still flashing a little so will PP this Sunday. Had a 3 week fluke M x2 then Fluke S treatment so giving them a week off without treatments after a water change.

Stayed pretty steady yesterday with the cloud cover, down slightly at 6:30a.m to 19.2c but with todays sunshine back up to 20.3 at noon today. Fish have been enjoying a nice slice of bread as a treat.

Yes, I'm trickling water in and overflowing out, that's brought it down a couple of degrees. Plan is to check the temps early tomorrow morning and if the difference is just a few degrees, then I'll transfer another one over. The two that went in the main pond on Sunday have settled well.

I'll try to rectify that. Meant to take some pics the other day but just forgot once I started the catching/measuring/transferring.

24.9 when I last looked! Top koi mixed into the OSW now at a ratio of 3 parts OSW 1 part Top Koi. Heater wasn't on last night either! I reckon I'll have a pond full of 90cm koi by the end of the week
