    Replace my filtreau screen

    Hi all
Been a long time since I’ve been able to catch up with chat on here and as usual some great content.
My filtreau 10,000 gravity fed drum has been working without any dramas apart from a new float switch and the rubber O ring connecting to the motor going duff. All sorted now. Just need some advice on changing my screen (only the silk part) not the whole thing (broken one already Didn’t Soak it !) hearing folk are now using 70 micron fine steel mesh screens ? Have sourced a supplier and need to change my screen as have a patch in place which will not last. Anyone using the new steel mesh stuff ? And hints and tips for cleaning regimes or is it a bad idea full stop Replace my filtreau screen
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Hi there. I have been using stainless steel mesh for 18 months now on my filtreau drum and it’s worked a treat.
I have 3 gauges of mesh, 150,100 and 70 microns, and change them depending on the water conditions.
It only takes me about 20 minutes to change the mesh screen and the screen I take off I soak in brick acid and it comes up like new ready to be used again when I need it.
