Koi carp re-home needed
Hi, I live in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. I have one large Koi carp that is the sole carp in my pond of around 35,000L. Put there about 10 years ago by my daughter when it was little and now is around 12-14 inches long and eating everything in the pond (wildlife). He has lovely colouring, orange, black and white and looks to be in good health. The pond has a filter and is clear with leaves at the bottom. I am looking to re-home him. Is anyone nearby interested or do you have any advice please?

One carp in a 35,000litre pond is unlikely to have much affect on the wildlife. You could probably leave it be.
3070 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

You’d be surprised. I don’t feed him but maybe I should! Used to have dragonfly larvae, newts etc but nothing in the pond now…

It sounds like you have something else going on. Maybe something invasive like crayfish or musk turtle.
Newts won't be in the pond this time of year either. And they move about. So they could just have moved on.3070 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.
