New filter ordered ;-)
Fed up with cleaning my EasyPod every other day, took a long time making a decision - mainly because of water level in my filter shed - finaly decided on the Burtons BD-150 Combi.
Had a good chat with Andrew yesterday and set it all in motion, about 3 weeks to wait
Any Burtons RDF users here? Anything I should beware of?
Cheers, John

I have the BD-500 drum, shipped out to Australia which took ten - twelve weeks and doubled the price, worsened by international currency exchange and PayPal fees. I had to change some electrical plugs.
Being new to drums, I had minor problems initially.
- Had to enlarge the bottom drain cover gaps to get sufficient flow;
- Had to install a float valve to top up the lost water quickly from cleaning cycles (a lowered pond water level triggers another clean cycle which drops pond level further);
- The amount of waste water is surprisingly high, make sure your waste water drains are capable;
- My float sensor slipped down gradually (un noticed) as I didn't fully tighten against the thin plastic sleeve. This created a few issues as I was re-doing everything else until I noticed.
I got two UV ports installed but only one UV unit. The yellow plastic blank cap on the unused port is a defacto UV light port in the dark/at night so I know it's working.
The Burton back up support was quite good but email due to time zones.
It's working well now with very clear water and almost no maintenance.
Big thumbs up to Burton Aquatics from me!

Delivered today, slightly ahead of the 3 weeks promised - bloody marvellous! It's a couple of weeks away from being installed, when my lad has some days off work to do the heavy lifting, as they say
and all the neccesary bits being in my hands!
Looking forward to getting it in and running is a massive understatement

It's in and running beautifuly - after a bit of a dodgy start!
My son has done 90% of the work, I'm just the brains behind it all
getting the EZpod out, changing all the pipework to suit, moving electrics - not without a few swear words
We couldn't get the crouzet app to connect at first, but about 6PM Monday, after hours - I called Burtons for help and within a few minutes Andrew called me back and took us through downloading and installing new software which fixed it. Most excellent customer service from Andrew at Burtons right from initial enquiry, sorting my order, delivery ahead of time and the superb help when needed, very pleased I chose Burtons
With mature media from the EZpod and half the new media so far, the pond is clearer than ever, fish happy and getting fed again after a week off.
No NPS or NFS expected as the Bakki shower has been running throughout, and the old media in bags in for starters. Already using probably 75% LESS water than I was for cleaning the EZpod, looking foward to it showing on future water bills!
It was too manic to get photos while the install was going on, I'll get some soon.
Happy days.
John

Burtons specify 548mm from floor level - 170mm from top of drum. TBH it was the best match for my existing pipework and Koi Shack, so helped make my decision.
I'm running a few mm under, after talking to Andrew and confirming that's fine.
I've just been out to the shack and put in the rest of the new media, I got 25 L each of the Burtons AquaFlow stuff and as said, in with the old K1 Micro it's mixing in much quicker than I would have believed possible. I've got about 50L of K1 in store too, so will be giving at least some of that a good Virkon bath, then adding that soon.
