eBay Banned Koi sales!? Why?
Just had two listings removed due to "policy violations"
Apparently as of 20th March no live fish over 5cm can be sold on eBay.
How annoying.
So I had already listed them here.
What other alternatives are there? I used to use Aquarist Classifieds and you could search by county which was useful.
Too many times wasters on Facebook but I might give it a try.
... apparently it's down to some 'exotic' African live snails that were being sold as food that carried nasties that could affect humans
...how that has got anything to do with Koi or larger aquarium fish or guinea pigs I do not know.
Incredibly irritating

...you can't sell live fish on Facebook Marketplace anymore either! So won't be long before the koi for sale groups come down...

Yeh it’s been like this for a bit, I also keep marine setups and it’s been debated for a few months on a reefkeeping forum I’m on, it did seem to affect coral sales at first aswell but it seems they are now allowed again
I’ve also used aquarist classifieds myself , it is a good setup but always seems a bit outdated to me, I had expected it to be busier on there recently because of the ebay thing but seems just as slow
Didn’t know that about Facebook marketplace not allowing it either, I don’t actually use Facebook myself so not sure how strict they are, you could try listing them or listing it as a pond closure advert with details of the fish within it? See if it gets removed?
If Facebook turn out to be as strict on this as eBay are then where are people actually going to sell fish from inherited ponds/pond closures etc if there’s no readily available outlet for them-will illegal dumping in canals etc become more common?
