New Fluke Treatment medication from Vetark
just seen this advertised on queni's website
new treatment based on Methyl (6-(phenylthiol)-1H-benzo(d)imidazole-2-yl)carbamate
which is an anthelmintic medication called Nocodazole
Also says it treats costia and trichodina.
not heard of any trials yet, but nice to have access to a different anthelmintic medication.

I believe Dave at Coastal koi is currently trialling it on some fish.

Is it of a different composition to Praziquantel?
Outside of Japan, we often see recommendations for a medicinal bath of an aqueous solution, but in Japan it is better to administer it orally, exclusively mixed with food.
Which is more effective?

the problem with oral dosing prazi is it's very bitter tasting so koi don't like to eat it, and dosage per fish is difficult to gauge.
The new fluke medication is a different medication, not praziquantel.
a chemical called Methyl (6-(phenylthiol)-1H-benzo(d)imidazole-2-yl)carbamate
or better known as Nocodazole i believe.

Obtained the treatment purely because it appears to be the only one that permits
my two young grass carp to remain in situ whilst it is applied. Haven’t seen them all winter & they have doubled their size already.
