I’m actually now considering one of the big Draco combi units - the C60 as that could turn over my pond every 20mins which would be reasonably easy to achieve with a couple of air lifts and a variety of pump for the shower.

I went to KWB yesterday (I have bought all my koi from them and trust them) to look at their ponds running Oase proficlear premium compact L filters and I am really impressed. Their 5500 gallon main pond runs on two of them with over 75 fish from 24" to over 34" and it's so clear.
I measured the bio section and it holds circa 365litres of water so applying the two-thirds rule it could take 240 litres of media: Oase told me 150 so I think this would be
plenty.
Some nice fish too….

Also bought some of this (damn expensive at £230 a bag), however my fish are fussy and usually take weeks to swap to different foods; it was instant! Also this morning my pond is the clearest it has been in the last two years and I can clearly see the bottom drain with no suspended poo in the water! That’s after 3feeds and not using the coppens I usually feed!

If money was no object, I think the Burtons Drums look exceptionally high quality, certainly comparible with the profi.
...however I paid £300 for 2nd hand filtreau, as a spare and
My current drum is a draco, which I paid £600 for, so bargains are out there.Last edited by Alburglar; 10-05-2025 at 08:15 PM.
3070 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.
