Thread: AEM easy drum problem

Hi

My AEM easy drum has stopped turning and this is the second time this has happened. The first time this happened it was under guarantee and they sent a new motor/gear box and all was fine but my friend tested the old motor and he said it wasn't broken. So after this second time I looked on YouTube and came across a guy that this happened to and he found that in the gear box there is a plastic cog between the metal ones and the plastic cog fails it just spins and sure enough when I looked at mine this is exactly what is happening. The guy got a metal cog sent free of charge but I have emailed AEM twice and no reply I don't mind paying for a metal cog but can't justify paying £120 on a new gear/motor box when I already have two. This looks like a design fault but an easy fix if I can get the part. I have attached a picture.
