    Going to Japan

As I’m fast approaching a “certain age” my wife has arranged something a bit special for me this year. I’m off for a week in Japan looking at Koi with a dealer I buy from (Mark from Supreme) then she’ll join me in Tokyo and we will do 2 weeks going round Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka, and in Sakura season too!

Now I know Mark well and know he’ll look after me and between us think we will root out some quality and bargains travelling the Niigata region but wondered if anyone here had been and could offer any tips or advice?

Sounds like you're well sorted already, to be fair.

Nice one, I hope you enjoy the trip.

Great idea to split the holiday, going by some of the Dealer schedules, you'll need a break after the Koi trip.

Sounds like the koi side is sorted . Only advice is have a koi budget and stick to it: and also that you will see loads of wonderful koi at every breeder so don't rush and buy the first nice koi you see. (nobody manages to follow this advice )

If the tourist side is an organised tour then that is also sorted, if you are diy let me know and I will give some general advice about that.

Blossom season is extremely popular in Japan, expect all the tourist hot spots, particularly in Kyoto & at weekends, to be absolutely rammed.
