Thread: So the Carnage begins....

Removed the shower media and shower today all 10 boxes of CSM
going to give the shower a clean up then get it all up for sale.

retested the bio as it's been standing for a year waiting on me fitting it...all good.
not a job i'm looking forward to as i've got to take just about EVERYTHING out of the filter shed to get it in, and re-pipe everything......
and somehow keep the pond ticking over while i'm doing it.

ammonia is up to 1ppm today
but with PH at 7.2 and temp at 20C all still good,
though i have noticed the fish have had a downturn in activity, and appetite...

Are you getting rid of the shower and just having a big bio then?

Keeping drum of course.

Home made or bought?
I've always thought there plenty of things that could be utilized and converted into a whopper of of a bio chamber eg 1000 litre IBC.

Know the feeling mate. 19 months since the house move and extension and patio are just about finished now.
Garden still a bit of a bomb site and winter will put a stop to things there, especially if it carries on as wet as it has been.

Paving was the only thing I didn't do my knees wouldn't take it. So had a pal in the trade do it.

I cocked up sealing it though.
I ordered what seemed to be the best Indian stone sealant. But after applying and it drying, discovered I'd ordered the gloss/wet type finish .
Its sawn & honed sandstone and has a pretty smooth finish, more like ceramic. problem now when it rains, it turns into a skating ring, the dogs go flying on it.
I'm looking at removing it now and redoing with a matt and less slippy finish.
