Air pump blown up
Think someone is trying to tell me something....
went into the filter house today to start figuring out what i need to do to get the new bio tank in place.
though it sounded a bit quiet...?
one of the Jecod PA45 air pumps wasn't working and hot to the touch.
when i took it apart to check the diaphram, that had broken, but the metal end of the magnet it was attched to,
had hit the back of the air chamber several times and smashed a hole through the check valve...
doubt i'll be able to get a new casing part so looks like another scrap pump to go with the aquaforte vario 30,000S, and drum motor....
swapped it out for one of the other jecod PA45 pumps and put my trusty 5 year old charles austin ET80 back into service.

The green yamitsu hi-flows are the best all rounder I've ever had. And the quietest.
Charles Austin had a little more oomph but the noise was incomparable.
Very tempted by the ones with battery backup though...2660 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

I have used the Yamitsu 50 air pumps for years and still do now. Spares are available decent price too. The output is really high by comparison to others I've tried and at good depth.
