Thread: Good evening

    Good evening

Hi all hope you’re doing well so last weekend was my first koi show, lots of stunning koi on show and to buy I had to give in in the end and brought home a couple of shiro from omasato
Hopefully they will develop into something nice and even be good enough to put in the show next year fingers crossed.
Unfortunately one has developed an ulcer on the base of its tail which I will be treating tomorrow after I’ve watched a few more videos on what to do .
It’s a shame we don’t have a show for the north west I’m sure there’s enough hobbyist up here in the north west to put on a show I’ve just joined the bkks as the members I met on Sunday were great and put a lot of hard work in to making the show a success.

Have you done any scrapes on the koi at all Alex? An ulcer is not a normal thing to just pop up on a koi.

Hi Alex, not too hard to treat an ulcer and I have done a few.

Make sure you have everything to hand,no good wandering off to get something and leaving the koi.
Run your finger over the scales next to the ulcer any rough ones are dead and need removing with tweezers,if not removed them as they will
    reinfect.

    Good luck Alex.
    John
