oily looking water
changed my media from alfragrog to ceramic this spring and my water looks oily on top whilst running waterfall return [ 12000litres ]
any ideas guys
clear when still. how do i clear biofilm done a 70% water change looking better but still there. [ any think i can treat it with ]

I just had this on a new build pond (only 5000l). Everything was new so guess it was some releasing agent from all the plastics and rubber liner.
I just did a couple of water changes via the skimmer line and ran direct to waste.

I see what you mean whereas the water level will rise everywhere so won't matter where the overflow...
