A different kind of blanket weed.

    Morning All,

I've been lucky for many years regarding blanket weed, if it starts to form I treat straight away with Blanket Answer and it's always taken care of it. This year it seems to be a different variety, although it looks the same as usual in the pond, when it comes out the strands are finer than usual and forms slimy sludge. Has anyone else found this?

    Brian.

    Hi again,

following 118's advice I switched to "Resolve". Its been a week since I dosed it and there has been a slight improvement. I need to add some more today or tomorrow. My question is; can the dose be increased from the recommended 25g per 750 Lt ??

    Anny help would be appreciated.

    Brian.

As per their recommendations, dose every 10 days for 30. Sprinkle it all around your pond as there's no need to mix prior to adding. It's harmless to both plants and your stock.

Do you know what your pond KH is as you might need to increase this, for better results?

    Hi 118

Thanks for that, I'm just being impatient. With BA its OK to increase the dose if the dreaded weed is suborn. As for testing the water I'm going to do it tonight, something to do when Coronation St is on..

    Brian.
