Filamentous algae
Hi everyone, now spring is here I seem to be getting a lot of algae in the pond. I can only describe it as filamentous as its in tiny little bits.
It's clogging the filter a lot, what's the best way to get rid of this stuff🤬

it sounds like a form of blanket weed that you have. In the past, I’ve used lots of different treatments for it. I’ve found blanket weed answer to be very effective, but this year I was treating it with blanket weed resolve, but had to stop the treatment because I found fluke on some of the fish and treating for that at the moment as it’s more important to the fishes welfare.
if blanket weed is not treated, he can take over the pond, It’s not detrimental to the fish but is very unsightly.

I use Biobooster+ , followed by 5 days of Bactogen and stop feeding for the first 2 of those days and my pond does see a lot of sun. Works every time for me which is twice or three times per annum. Once in spring ( early April) when pond temp is 16-18 and rising fast , once in late July - August ( temps will be 26-29) and once in Autumn (October ish) when temp will still be over 20.
