    Pump lifespan

I no this is like asking how long is a piece of string but what sort lifespan do people get from their run of the mill varipumps ?
I have a aquaforte dm 30000 that has been running for 6yrs now and was wondering should I look at replacing it. Not sure how long they last and if it does decide to pack up it will do as you go out the door on holiday !! Obviously some are run flat out others not etc but it would be nice to have a ball park figure of roughly how long they last.
    Cheers

Hi/ I just make sure I carry a spare, I run 2 one on the bottom drain and one on the skimmer and there always a air pump on.

it might keep going a long time more,
but i have a spare pump as it will only fail after 6pm on day before a bank holiday

I do take mine out annually and give them a descale and clean.
impellors getting gunked up and jamming are a common problem.
