like a cheap fluke treatment where a £78 1 litre can treats 100,000 gallons,
with just one dose, kills all skin and gill flukes and eggs all gone too...
    ...oh yeah that's called supaverm

I would like to see proper, accurate and honest instructions on pond medications and more transparent advertising of pond related equipment.

For example, read up on all the advertising blurb for a nexus and nowhere does it tell you that you'll need to buy both an air pump and a pond pump for it to work.

Obvious to us lot, but to a newbie discovering you are only buying a small piece of what is required it is enough to put them right off even getting into the hobby.

And with medications you often see FMG that lists flukes as one of the parasites it treats.

My list of examples on all counts could go on and on. Things need to improve.

This is exactly what happened to my mates dad, he's taken over his pond since my mate moved out and only had a black box filter on a 10,00 litre pond. He was on the Brink of paying a load for a new easy pod all in one system and I said he would be better off spending half on a second hand nexus, then when he got it he didn't realise the air pump needed to be 130l or something as advertised on the paperwork.

Had I not helped him he would have brought an easy pod for that pond which whilst it would be an improvement on what he has, it would still be insufficient for the pond he has but according to the advertising guidelines an easy pod is more than enough for a 10,000 koi pond!

Agree with all previous posts, personally i would like to know exactly what i was buying food wise...... lots are available all at differing prices, all promising the best ingredients, some transparity in all the marketing hype..... will never happen but its a winge i have, product koi tax to be reduced to sensible levels, a nice long warm spring and summer to condition the fish

All koi shops to have clear fish prices so you don’t have to ask
to then be looked up and down to see how deep your pockets look and breeder certs for all fish so you know it’s from who it says it’s from

I'd add for all koi dealers to remove fish that have already been sold from their website...

That will be like asking an Estate Agent to remove a property that's already had an offer accepted!

I presume they do it to show the quality of the koi they've sold, or maybe to make it seem like a bigger business than it actually is, or maybe just because they can't be arsed to remove them as they're busy.

But as a prospective customer it irritates the hell out of me. It makes scrolling through the fish take so much longer. And invariably whenever I see one I like... it's sold.
