Should I start using my new filter now, ahead of the pond upgrade?

I've just taken receipt of a new Eazypod and pump.
My current pond is 1000l and the new one is 4000l.
The new one won't be installed for a couple of weeks.

    Two questions I'm pondering...

Should I rig up the eazypod and pump alongside the existing filtration in the current pond to kick start the good bacteria in the eazypod?

When I'm ready to fill the new pond, is it beneficial to transfer the 1000l of water from the current pond, along with 3000l of new water?

    Thanks!

Yes and yes mate as much of the old water as you can will help the fish from stressing out and keep things as stable as possible for them . And definitely get that new filter rigged up .

Is the filter and media brand new or used ?
Used could be beneficial to soak in pp first
New depending on what media k1 or k+ ?
K1 will mature quicker if pre soaked
    k+ dosnt need to be

Hi, it's brand new and came with 18 litres of K1 Micro. Should I start using my new filter now, ahead of the pond upgrade?

Add the k1 to the pod shut all valves off fill with water and mix a strong pp . https://www.cotswoldkoi.co.uk/produc...RoC5KsQAvD_BwE

Add to the filter and turn the air on to let it boil over night . Dump to waste rise a couple times then good to go hook up to filter and away you go

    All Imo mind .
