Who's had issues with the heat?

Apart from the obvious pond overheating.....
My 2 Charles Austin ET60 air pumps for the bottom drains stopped working, too hot to touch.
Started working again once I'd put them in the fridge to cool down, got a 12 inch fan blasting air over them now and I'm surprised at how cool it's keeping them.
Also having to do 80% water change on grow on a week to keep temperature below 28c, thank god I'm on a borehole.
    So hopefully no more issues.

Only over heating issue was me cooking inside out . Other than that luckily the pond and fish seem to have escaped without problem . Did make sure the returns were splash returns to help with the oxygen

If it is as if it is summer in Japan, isn't this a good opportunity to achieve unprecedented intensive feeding to try to build up body size and nutrition and, like us, take advantage of the complete winter feeding pause and use it to counter the flukes the following spring?

One of my air pumps also overheated and stopped working.
I put a wet towel over them now twice a day and seems to stop them over heating.

not had an issue with my ET80 even though the filter house has been up to 45C inside
the pond is pretty stable though, never seems to go much above 25C.
but it does have a polycarbed pergola.

No issues up here only got to 37 deg not like down south

Pond got to 24 deg and tried to get a heavy female to spawn with no luck
Pond has a solid roof which helps and no air used in the pond just a good splash return.

    Lovely rain this morning

Ha ha, lovely fine drizzle here and I slept well last night first time for a while.

I do love the sun and sit in it all day though.

Same here ! Noticed my air pump was dangerously hot , so turned it off for a bit .

I noticed some people use fans to cool them . Just wondering if it would be worth directing an air line from a couple of the spare ports on the manifold , back onto the pump - thus blowing the air onto it . Would this work ? I`ll have a play with it , this weekend

I'd suggest using a fan like I have, I'm really surprised at how cool it's keeping the air pumps. I started off with a 12inch fan but have just changed to a cheap low watt 9inch fan off Amazon, I'm impressed.

Not had any issues with my air pumps- although they are in shade inside the filter house and I’ve been leaving the doors open for extra ventilation. It’s a good idea to check the filter inside your air pumps if they are overheating. They get a lot hotter if filters are clogged up and needing replacing. I tend to forget how many years I’ve had each pump without servicing It

My air pump was fine, hidden in the shed so in the shade. It does need the diaphragm replaced as has dropped power (been like this a little while) but as I only use it on the BD I haven't rushed to do it yet. Once I have a moving bed in there I will either change it for more oomph or sell it with the fresh diaphragm and get a bigger air pump if needed.
