Hi all, I've valves on my air pumps, but I'm worried that I may damage the pumps if I throttle the valves, is there an alternative like an air pressure relief valve??
If anyone has a photo of such, that would be of great help to.
Thanks

Dave what size pump do you use for the curtain,?
I expect my curtain will be 180cm's no bigger, so be putting air in from both ends, I think anyway, as I'm not sure if I only used one end that the air would get to the other end ?
Thinking of using one of these Evolution Aqua Airtech 75 Air Pump,Last edited by Tom Koi; 26-11-2022 at 08:15 PM.

Cheers Burty I've got pumps here that'll do it, but not sure how reliable they'll be over time.

Guys - what seems to be the best position for a curtain - top, middle or bottom of your water column? Or is it simply placed within, based on aesthetics?

Thanks for the reply - I've a 4ft deep pond and have a slight dead area and was wondering if i could move this on using a curtain instead of another central stone? No doubt when i switch off the middle bottom stone, this area will move somewhere else, so perhaps a trickle feed to both 'might' be a better solution however I'm now conscious of what has been written above..my pump is a Hailea v30.. thoughts?

Just noticed this thread.
I'm guessing the purpose of an air curtain is purely to counter measured or potential drops in O2 levels and would not be an aesthetic choice?
I'm a koi keeping dinosaur, I know, but I try and avoid visible water disturbance in the pond to give the best possible view of the fish and "treat and condition" my water out of sight in the filter shed.
Having said that, I'm absolutely confident that whatever DTF builds will be professionally done and will work flawlessly.

This looks very interesting and I think I might make one for my current pond build.
Dave, the 2 ebay links don't work now, maybe as it was a year or more ago the seller or listing has gone or expired.
Not has chance to watch the video yet but will try later.
Nice work BTW________________________________________________

thanks
maybe not flawlessly but good enough lol
i understand where you are coming from,
a natural looking pond without any water surface disturbance looks great.
from a growth point of view especially when heating a pond to 26C in summer,
high oxygen levels become more difficult, so aeration helps maintain itLast edited by davethefish1; 25-06-2023 at 12:22 PM.
