I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat as you. Although I also have Trich that I can't get rid of as well. I soooo underestimated how bad parasites can be when I started out with the koi pond.

My recent approach to treatment was to pp the pond as per instructions i.e. 4 hours. Then a couple of days later I treated with lernex pro.

I put a 100% dose in on day 1, then 50% on day 2 and 50% on day 3. Each time I dosed I turned the pump off for a few hours so the fish were swimming about in the treatment before the filters started taking it all out of the system again. I also add some in the clean side of the drum, so that the powder could get into the moving bed filter as well as I'm sure there's many lurking in there.

I'm not recommending what I did as it affected the fish. One ended up with a red patch on its flank with raised scales . Others were bottom sitting. So I ended up treating the injuries fish in a tub with salt and acriflavin for a few days. It's back in the pond now, and looks to be healing, but the fins look raggedy.

I'm yet to do more scrapes but have already seen fish lunking and flashing.

I'm running out of options of what to do tbh other than just let the fish live with them and do the odd treatment to keep it under control? I've tried fluke p, fluke m, lernex and lernex pro now. Can't be many left I've not tried.

I feel bad on the fish getting bombarded with chemicals, but equally the fish keep picking up the occasional injury from flashing. So I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.

You're right, it is a bit soul destroying. On the plus side, this morning the fish are looking healthy, lively and wanting to feed.

Like you, I feel bad, constantly bombarding the fish with chemicals. Once the Chillo is treated, I will rescrape and if there are only very few flukes, think I will leave them alone, unless of course the fish are looking distressed.

lernex pro was the only thing that worked for me too...

turned the filters off for a good few hours, then ran them as normal.
as it dissolved completely into the water, i didn't need to bypass the drum.

I have seen it but never used it. I have used Fluke M, S, Fluke solve, Fluke solve plus and Lernex pro (about 4 times last year).

Having had Flukes again this spring I used PP followed by Fluke M at 100% day one, then 50% days two and three, each time leaving it in the pond for hours so it didn't get broken down by the filters. Then on day 5 after I done another 100%,50,50 of Fluke S following the same method, then on the 6th day after the previous 100% dose I done one more 100% dose of fluke M and left it in the pond all day with just the air running so the fish got the full dose and all scrapes following were clear so I think I may have beaten them although I do still have some flashing from 3 of my Male fish, not as often though and does seem to be after feeding mostly which is just over hourly at the moment so would seem more often than normal due to the intense feeding.

Sam - That Is an unreal amount of treatment you went through. Must've cost a packet (pun intended) and they're still flashing!

I hope that the flashing isn't fluke related!

The lernex pro/flukesolve/plus was all last year but the Fluke M & Fluke S was this year. The scrapes came back clear recently and got really good scrapes so god knows what it is, probably just my crap tap water!
