Thanks all for your great comments
one of all the pond its 5000 gals has two bottom drains filtered by a profidrum bio50 with two 20000 and a 30000 feeding the waterfall
two skimmers in the side wall.
the filter has a tempory cover over it until i am fit enough to replace with a artificial japanese stile tea house

Dave it looks better in real time they are all on separate remote control
the coloured lights were by order of the better half i just prefere the waterfall lights on their own with the lanterns flickering just like real candle light very relaxing at night with the pond lit up to see the fish as a comlete novice i have learned a lot from all of you on this site and especially Syd for his assistance with my neighbours pondsLast edited by PeterDunn; 19-06-2022 at 08:16 PM.

John
pic as requested flow to waterfall head is via a 30000 vari pump running at 35% 57 watts through 2 inch flexible solvent weld pipe the other two 20000 pumps feed tangental returns in the walls of the pond also with 2 inch flexible solvent weld pipe eliminating all bends except swept bends at the pumps running at 60% 75 watts bills not that expensive as we are on a good tarriff till aug next year 17.83 for elec and 3.15 for gas

Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
