If you can do some before and after pics that would be great.
I'm thinking of getting some myself soon, so it'll be great to see what's others experience is of it.

The old basic rule is that it's more ideal when the water temperature is above 20 degrees Celsius, right?
But digestibility seems to have improved recently, so we just need to continue to be careful not to have floating jelly-like stools, don't we?

to me thats down to indigestion, like diarrhea in humans.
too much food, or too high in proteins and unable to properly digest.
...like a bad takeaway on a friday night
if i see that in the pond, no food the next day.
and probiotic foods or additives the day after, and slowly increase the amount of food again.

You are exactly right.
It is good to be able to distinguish between normal and undigested stool.
The worst is a white or clear floating stool that looks like it is straight from the secretions of the intestinal wall.
Soluble soft stools also tend to pollute pond water. Solid, firm faeces are ideal and should be removed as much as possible when they accumulate in the settling tank.
Identification of these faecal conditions is taught at a very early stage in Japan. The trouble is that they will continue to seek food even when they are producing these undigested faeces.

Be interested to see what happens after the colour enhance food has been fed for a while
Just gone to NT Labs Staple and Health as a 50 50 split on Monday and the Staple stuff has colour enhancer in it so maybe it will have an effect on some of mine________________________________________________

Yep some nice fish!
I love that doitsu karashigoi. If you ever want to get rid of it I'll happily take it off your hands

As introduced in a previous thread on The truth about colour enhancing techniques we have stated that, using KOHAKU as an example, the recently mainstream SENSUKE lineage, which does not turn deep red without a colour enhancer feed, and older lineage such as TOMOIN and YAGOZEN, which are now rare, can be enjoyed without a colour enhancer because they will naturally turn deep red later on. I am aware that these days when both bloods are often crossed, it is quite impossible to simply divide them in two, but I still believe that your KOHAKU should give you a rough idea of what is a type of BENI and what is not. I collected as many characteristically KOHAKUs as I could of both lineages. I hope you can sense the difference between these BENI.

Looking to see if the reds will go a bit deeper it might just be me but it looks like they might have gone a bit lighter but that might be with the growth some of them have done the red karashigoi was 33cm in September in feb it was 48cm the kohaku was 40 cm in June in April it was 52cm the doits karashigoi went from 35cm in June to 49cm in feb so was thinking that with them stretching quite quickly could that be stretching the colour to
