    Found on my window

    Well not moved my window cover for weeks so today gave the fish some daylight as temps reached a barmy 9c found around 6 of these things dead between the cover and the window, any idea what they are ?

    look like it might be a water louse?
    can't imagine many terrestrial insects are up and about atm...

    looked at water louse online does not look like them, these are pinkish red in colour looks just like a mini shrimp?

    I dont think they are mate, looks just like dried shrimp never seen them before or where they came from, quite weird...

    no mate only silkworm pupae.... strange where they came from especially being so cold, mind you between glass and cover its probably quie cosy with water being 17c.

    I've had the little mites all year there on the outside of wall of the easypod and are cling on to the inside of pipe work.

    Not Louse there legs run along there body, look a little like wood louse, but may shrimp.

    yes agree looking online it certainly looks the same and the same colour..... these were outside the window between the glass and the cellotex cover so no idea whats been going on... they look like adults too... ready made food source

    Are they not pond Scuds, a sign of a healthy pond I believe ,My filter at my last pond was full of them.

    gammarus / sideswimmers / scuds apparently all the same thing, reading up they survive on excess food, fish waste,plants and organic matter, where they are hiding i do not know but apparently multiply in their thousands cannot see any live ones anywhere so god knows where these 6 came from...
