FMG 3rd dose for stubborn whitespot/coastia

    Hello

Currently on 2nd dose of fmg ( not pre mixed bought seprately for strength).

I am worried that this may not get it so was wondering can you does 3 times back to back with FMG?

Currently just dosed then 3 days later 2nd dose gone in.

Bought two pond bombs to counteract any loss of biosphere too.

please see picture as you can see I have the whitespot on the retreat but worried it may come back.

    thanks

    Jim

After just one dose a couple of weeks back, it hit my filter quite hard and had a nitrite spike. took about ten days to get it back down to where it should be.

Are you talking about medicated baths again?
After all, you've been doing it all year round、、、。
You need to turn to a more seasonal approach to keeping your KOIs that doesn't rely on that kind of thing!

Naoki someone needs to tell the parasites to be more seasonal then wouldn’t need to treat wouldn’t it be super if you only got parasites for spring once a year then after that you don’t see any again until following spring and depending on your filter and media age the filter should recover aquasource do a product called revitalise that is supposed to be useful after treatments Lincolnshire fish health also do a detox powder which I’ve used recently which helped my fish pick up after I’d used the kusuri malachite and acriflavine for costia which I’d personally not use again stressed the hell out of my fish lost 3 and if it wasn’t for advice from Paula Reynolds I’d of probably lost more I did get rid of the costia eventually I did 2 doses of fmg not pre mixed to get shot of the costia but I don’t see why you can’t use 3 doses as sometimes according to Duncan’s book you dose 3 times for wnitespot I only did 2 re scrape after 2nd dose I only did it twice coz after 1st dose scraped but still had them although at very low numbers so treated again on day 7

Prefer a more practical less trivial answer please.

its not nice seeing fish die that you have had for 10 years. Even worse when you are doing everything you can to prevent this.
Try telling parasites not to be "seasonal"

I'm not living in the UK at the moment, so I can't speak definitively, but having lived here for a few years in the past and being able to compare the two countries, I can tell you that a lot of what's going on between you is due to the annual schedule.

We will discuss how this can be improved in the future, but first we would like to present our annual schedule. With a few exceptions, this is what we do most of the time.

First of all, your popular summer selling period lasts from May to early June for us. From then on, like professional breeders, we disinfect the KOIs with a strong disinfectant (in my day we used salt or malachite), and then once they have settled down, we feed them fully until autumn. During this period, there is no netting or measuring.

They are all reluctant to move the KOI between feeding periods or to add new ones. They do not want to destroy the ecosystem of the pond once it has been created.

October and November are the harvest and the autumn selling period. This is also the time when most of our HINPYOUKAI, the originators of your KOI SHOW, take place. This is because our HINPYOUKAI is not only a display of KOI, but also a competition of feeding and finishing techniques during the summer months.

From the end of December to the following spring, many of the KOI go into complete dormancy. Please exclude from your thoughts all Japan in January organized by Shikoukai as an exception. (For those who are interested in the truth of this, I will tell you about it another time)

What has always bothered me about these comparisons is the lack of a growing-up period for KOIs in the UK. We cannot be sure that this is the cause of all the problems, but in the medium to long term it is likely to play a major role in the development of KOI immunity and resistance to disease.
