    30000 Vari Pump Bargain

Just having a browse at possible pump upgrade and noticed this pump advertised which I thought is a bit of a bargain for a 30000 variable with a three year warranty?

    https://www.swelluk.com/swell-variab...RoCa88QAvD_BwE

All of these pumps (EVO, Bermuda, Jebao) are apparently made by the same Chinese manufacturer but there's a great variation in price for the different branded versions in the UK.

    EZ-pond 1200i Semi-Raised Pond, Spin-drifter BD, Oase Aquaskim, Oase Proficlear Compact Gravity, 1x Bermuda 10,000, 1x EvoAqua 20,000 Vari Wi-fi Pumps, 2x Evo-Aqua 70L Air Pumps , Evo-Aqua 55w UV, Aqua-Sieve Midi, 3 Tier Stainless Shower, Hydro-Pro Z7 Heat Pump, 48" Big Blue De-chlorinator, Profi Auto Feeder & Seneye Pond Pack.

That does look a good deal indeed, I do keep wondering whether I need to upgrade mine on my BD's, but the jump in power consumption seems too high to warrant it for me from circa 190w up to 500w.

If these are same manufacture which they certainly look like the EA being 450w seems odd compared to the Swell ??

I think they are definitely the same.

I have a 20000 EA running on a Bermuda Wifi control panel.

They are look to be manufactured by a Chinese company Boyu Aquarium.
They seem to make loads of stuff that is rebranded and sold under licence via various different well known companies.

SLB series variable frequency pump - ??????????

    Defo worth a look though?
I was also looking at the power consumption its a massive jump. But then I suppose how much the higher figure would drop running the 30000 at say 50-75% ?

    thats not a bad price
but those running costs will soon mount up at about 140 a year per 100w...
    500w = 700

the EA pump for 30,000 is 450w 70 a year less
and aqua forte 30,000 is 335w 225 a year less
similar output for a flow freind is 230w.... but it costs 2000

i think the biggest issue with the 30,000 pumps and big increase in wattage,
is that the inlet and outlet size is restricted, and the same as the 20,000...at just 2" it really needs to be 3"....

Good point with running it low, I have 3 no. 20k running and not really wanting to increase running costs just yet, BUT would a 30k running at 50% be better than a 20k running at 75%

    probably,
i had a AF 10,000 vario running flat out at @ 85w on my old pond for 3000lph (long run)
swapped to a AF 20,000 vario and had it running @ 85w for 4000lph....
    both timed and measured.

    better design/electrionics
think the aquaforte now use sinewave driver technology same as more expensive pumps like blue eco and flow friend.

flow friends can do a lot of water at good height but cost the earth
