Thread: Missing fish.

    Missing fish.

Some of you might remember that a few weeks back, my drum malfunctioned and drained down the pond by about a foot or so. I also spotted that a lovely little Kikusui that Gaz supplied had gone, presumed taken by a cat or heron.

Anyway, came back earlier on from a couple of days away, went out to feed the fish and the first one up and waiting for grub was the missing one.

He had been missing for well over three weeks but looked absolutely fine. My pond is not huge and being rectangular and the water clear, there's no where to hide. I can only imagine he must have got himself stuck in a fold of liner and after a few weeks of dieting was finally able to reverse out First bit of good luck with the pond in a while.

No pipework that he could get into. I only have an above pond return and side drain to the filter, that has a plastic cage cover on it, way too small for anything other than fry to get through.

    Kikusui koi not Ghost koi

Glad to hear you got it back again g mac

I've had some of my smaller and darker koi disappear for weeks or months but seeing as my pond is black and not always very clear being pump fed it's not surprising as some days I can't even see the white ones in there
